Bed Stik… Another one for the collection

Shhhhhhleep

Stik can be seen all over the East end, another one to add to the collection. Sleepy Stik is a cute Stik. Again the shape of the body and minimal face still manages to convey some form of emotion. My stick drawings are not even suitable for Hartbeat, I’ll stick to scribbles and doodles

And another

And another

One more

Final one

Things I’ve seen…

London has been a bit of a temperamental bitch this weekend, one minute raining cats and dogs, the next nervous sunshine, then mardy winds. One minute I was wishing for an umbrella and the next needing sunglasses. So this morning SF went out for a bike ride swearing sunglasses, a hat, waterproofs and a vest underneath. Crazy times.

Random weather gave these pictures lots of different looks.

The Wick of Hackney - Retro too

Everything in the East end has to be a bit retro doesn’t it?

Yellow alien heads

Like the Simpsons, if they were possessed

Bloody Krays

More Sweets than you can stomach

Anyone reckon this might be Sweet Toof's studio?

Mr Toof gets around London but he makes sure he keeps it interesting, it is not just simple walls or shop shutters. This guy doesn’t mind going up high to put his mark on the LDN skyline, he doesn’t mind getting in a boat too and he likes to go out and about finding some rather obscure parts of the city.

Big Toof... tiny mouth

I think Sweet Toof is thinking to the future, the Olympics are a few months away and his will be the most visible art in London, it also sticks in the mind the big pink lips and huge gnashers meaning that people will be able to chart it across their journey to Stratford.

Even the tag is intricate

Expect to see another guerilla stunt like he did with the Metro last year…

Gimp…. that is all

That is all

The Angelic. London pub, pretty nondescript, shit name, kind of place that sells ‘gastro’ food, kind of place that people who wear Fat Face or FCUK, the type that listen to Keane, probably reside in Clapham and drink cider over ice before heading home before midnight. Pretty vanilla… but apparently they have a gimp downstairs. I now like

ROA exhibition out east right now kids…

I did not go ce soir, this was largely because I headed to Columbia Road and ended up having a drink with Gandalf’s Eastend younger balder funnier more laddy brother and my good pal who I know as Peter Pan.

Watership Down

In the meantime here is the link to ROA’s show

Lots of ROA’s stuff along Hackney Road, Tourists are always searching it out

Things I’ve seen….

Few random shots from my wonderings

Hugo Bossman

Motherbar (333)

Unknown off Brick Lane

Nazir Tanbouli

I have found a few extra little pockets of art around East London and will picture these v soon.

Any suggestions for good places to go in South London ya’l?

Here, there, every Nazir

Full wall of monsters

Following my previous post this month on Nazir Tanbouli we saw that the man is trying to single-handedly turn a semi-deserted eye sore in East London into his very own canvas. I am loving this big dinosaurs with upside down heads and multiple eyes.

Dino-boarded up

The playful imagery is like a acid version of Jurassic Park.

Bird in prey

Fish walls

As always… not telling you exactly where it is…. but it is between Kingsland Road and Queensbridge Road

Fight the gentrification Nazir

A little of what you like....

Nazir Tanbouli is a resident of East London, he has worked here amongst his collective from 1995 so has probably see the changes to Whiston Road more than most.

Upstairs boarded up.... downstairs a little doodling

Recently Whiston Road saw a few pieces of new art to brighten up the slowly but surely closing housing estates. The estates are in disrepair and I can only imagine the council are ignoring them until the very last resident gives up the ghost and moves on. All around this area shiney new housing developments are going up. Makes you wonder where the people living there at the moment are going to go?

Bit blurry... but you get the idea

And another one....

Also makes you wonder where the local graf artists are going to to paint if everywhere is new and clean…. gentrification here we come, expect a Pret on Broadway Market in the next 6 months
